What Is an Undercoating?
In a nutshell, undercoating uses a durable, tack-free, and strong polymer-based formulation to protect the vehicle’s underbody from rust and corrosion. An undercoating is specially designed to assist with sound dampening as well as protecting against rust and corrosion. Furthermore, an undercoat will assist in:
- Minimize Chassis and Under-Body Noise
- Enhance Insulation
- Protect From Road Salts
Undercoating Application
A specialist will add undercoating to the exposed chassis and underbody regions of the vehicle, stretching from the firewall to the rear. An undercoating application does not cover the exhaust system, drive train, and suspension components. On average, undercoating dries in 24 hours and cures fully in 72 hours, depending on humidity and ambient temperatures.
Advantages of Undercoating
- Provides Unmatched Protection to Vital Under-Body Areas
- Is Resistant to Chipping, Peeling, And Cracking
- Offers Advanced Protection From Rust And Corrosion
- Is Environmentally Friendly and Free of Asbestos
- Dampens Road Noise
- Repels Moisture, Chemicals, Sand, Rocks, And Other Debris
- Stays Flexible and Tack-Free Over the Life Of Your Vehicle
